Essential Survival Kit
The police knock on your door. You’re told you have five minutes to evacuate your home. What do you grab? What is valuable? Where do you go? This happened to over 5000 residents of Bastrop in mid September of 2011. With multiple fires burning through drought-stricken, wooded neighborhoods, residents were given just a few minutes to grab their belongings and flee. The fires took two weeks to contain, and destroyed over 1600 homes.
We encourage you to create an emergency action plan for you and your family. Part of that plan should include emergency supplies and water for your family for at least a week.
